The University of Surrey Boat Club is a high performance sports club which aims to be successful at the highest level of rowing competition whilst supporting athletes academically.
The University of Surrey Boat Club has a large beginners’ development programme, open to any university student, taking those who have never before been involved in the sport and giving them the opportunity to make the most of their rowing potential. Recently, 8 our of 9 of our athletes who qualified for Henley Women’s Regatta learnt to row on the development programme. Find out about their success here.
Our coaching team (including two rowing coaches and a specialist S&C coach) ensure that all athletes compete to their best ability.
Experienced rowers are given every opportunity to reach their peak through land and water training, backed by Surrey Sports Park, our base for land training. Our partnership with Molesey Boat Club acts as a pathway to GB. Competing at all the major races throughout the season, expectations are high and the athletes are determined.
High Performance Athlete Scholarship Schemes are also available for those with national squad aspirations, provided by the university to support an athlete’s studies and training. You can read about our current HPASS athletes here.
